Hosting
Informatics offers secure, state of the art hosting services.
Our robust Network Operation Center (NOC) is located in the heart of downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We maintain multiple T1 connections to the internet. All of our power is filtered and backed-up with a power generator that can run indefinitely in the event of an electrical outage.
We pay strict attention to security. Our web servers are maintained behind firewalls. Servers are patched as new threats occur. Security protocols are established and strictly enforced.
All critical systems and sites are monitored once each 60 seconds. Should alarms occur, they are dispatched immediately to technical personnel on call 24x7 with web-enabled mobile technology. Redundant monitoring systems, at different geographical locations, constantly test each other for availability.
Our production control process is managed with a series of procedures and controls. If a maintenance option is elected, two versions of your website will be deployed: production and development. A strict software configuration management (version control) further ensures the integrity of the software images. When requested, we can establish and maintain a training version for use by your new employees so they do not have to learn and practice on live data.
Your website will be maintained on a farm of servers with all traffic going through redundant load balancers. This provides the optimal end-user experience so load is evenly spread among several servers and provides the quickest response time. It further provides the opportunity to provide timely system maintenance as a server can be taken off-line from the cluster without shutting down the entire website.
System backups are regularly executed. An array of backup systems are utilized and performed through out the day. Backup tapes are cycled off-site for safe keeping. Generational data sets are maintained for archival purposes.
A soon to be implemented feature is a global fail-over system where your internet traffic would be rerouted to another NOC in the rare event of an outage.
Shared, Managed, Dedicated and Co-location packages available.
