Four Oaks

Four Oaks is a non-profit community action agency in operation throughout the state of Iowa with a mission to ensure children become successful adults. Informatics designed and developed the website, as well as a site for a partner of Four Oaks, Affordable Housing Network.

The website is powered by a content management system that allows Four Oaks to update and maintain content throughout the site. Site features powered by this system include a homepage news section, as well as “The Faces of Four Oaks,” an informative article chronicling the success stories around the community.

Visually the site operates on two levels; a design aesthetic influenced by the energy and vibrancy of childhood, and an information architecture that allows visitors quick access to site content. Many design elements are rendered to look like paper and paint, suggesting a child’s playroom. Usability features include a primary navigation, quick links prominently placed in the header, a search function, a popular links section, as well as convenient donate now, need help, and volunteer buttons.
